Functionally manage research and development teams in core Linux kernel areas on a global scale. Will involve providing high level technical and managerial direction to the world-wide teams to ensure execution and delivery of planned work items
Drive planning activities for the technology area, providing architectural guidance, driving process improvements, setting strategic direction aligned with company/organization business goals and strategies
Work with Linux community and stakeholders across the organization/company to seek/evolve/identify/exploit/invent/innovate new technologies/methods to deliver value to customers
Manage/coach/develop people and their skills to enable them to perform better
Appraise and evaluate performance on a regular basis to bring out the best performance and productivity in the team
Qualifications:
Engineering degree (Bachelors/Masters) in Computer Science and related areas
Sound knowledge of Operating Systems concepts, Open Source Software Development models, software engineering concepts
At least 10 years of industry experience working in a systems software/technology area with proven team leadership skills preferably in Linux/Unix Operating Systems
A minimum of 3 years' of people management experience with proven track record in managing global teams
Strong leadership, cross-group, communication and influencing skills
Technically proficient in at least one programming language, preferably C
Working knowledge of Linux is highly preferred

10+ years experience in O.S. Testing domain.
Expert in the Linux Operating Systems internals with good debugging skills, sound understanding of the customer environment/workloads and good knowledge of Open Source philosophy.
